Habitat: moist but well-drained soil; prefers protected full sun to half-shade locations; small open areas, between stepping stones; trailing plant in pots.
Use: ornamental; ground cover, for grape vines.
BotanyLow-growing, persevering, perennial herb; ups to 15 cm high, 15 to 30 cm wide.
Stem: creeping and rooting.
Leaves: alternate, simple; fingernail size; lance-shaped; toothed.
Flowers: purple-blue to white; flowering in spring and summer; crown is 2-lipped and violet-blue to pink or white, inside with white and yellow spots.
