Laserpitium latifolium
English: Broad-leaved sermountain.
Region: Europe except Albania, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal; introduced in Belgium.
Habitat: mountain dry forests, grassy slopes, the sunny edges of woods or in meadows; calcareous soils, nutrient-rich; altitude of 400 to 2100 metres.
Botany
Perennial herb, 50–150 centimetres high.
Stem: green-grayish, round, erect, lightly grooved, branched on the top.
Leaves: quite large, biternate, petiolated, with a prominent central rib; leaflets are ovate or heart-shaped and toothed; 3–10 cm long and 2–6 cm wide.
Inflorescence: 10–15 centimetres diameter.
Flowers: white; flowering from May to August.
Fruits: oblong, flattened, 5–10 millimetres long.
