Confusion about self-worth
They feel confused about themselves, who they are and what they're worth. They try to find a fixed position but cannot find it. Every time they think they have found the truth and real values, other aspects come in that set them back. It can also be connected with a religious, spiritual insecurity, as if they don't know what their soul is worth.
Mocked about self-worth
This insecurity can be the consequence of being mocked and bullied. When someone is mocking or just jesting they can take it very seriously. They feel mocked about themselves, their deep inner self-worth. The result is confusion about their self-worth.
Trying to become autonomous to gain self-worth
They keep on trying to become someone, to be an independent thinker and person. They have the need to be autonomous in order to feel that they're worth something. They can also think and see independently, but they are too unstable and changeable to stick to their position.
Confusion about autonomy due to their father
Their state is often the consequence of a father who used to mock them. The jesting gave them their confusion about what they are worth, never knowing if their father was serious or not. Their father often behaved like this out of insecurity himself, having been bullied himself at school or by his own father.
