English: Homalia moss.
Genus: 6 species.
Botany: habitat on rocks, base of trees and shrubs, shaded sites such as woods and hedgerows, sites by ditches, streams and rivers, growing in the flood zone, well above the normal water level; attened shoots, up to 6 cm long; leaves shiny, rounded, like a leafy liverwort, curving downwards at the tip, when dry, giving the shoots an arched back; faint nerve extends at least halfway along the leaf; egg-shaped capsules 1.5 mm long are not uncommon.
