A 60-year-old woman is often restless or feels gloomy. She is always busy taking care of her parents and partner. Three years ago, she had a good response to Euonymus. She is a folksy type, direct, and alert. Now she comes for bowel complaints. She has already been to the GP for constipation and is very worried. Eating now makes her nauseous, and she thinks the GP's medication is rubbish. It has been like this for weeks. About her work: it was intense with everything that had to be done; it involved a lot of walking and lifting. She has a lot of pain in her feet, which feel twice as big. The muscles are painful, the knee occasionally, and one night her shoulder 'popped out,' and it cramped. She also had a bladder infection and took antibiotics. Her bowel has felt 'weird' for months: alternating between constipation and diarrhea. It’s also in her head; she immediately thinks she has cancer because you hear so much about it. Breakfast is unappealing, even coffee. Her tongue is dry, with some yellow mucus at the base, and the front is dark red. Her nasal mucous membranes are irritating and itchy. In the morning, she can have pain beside her nose, perhaps due to dry air. Her sleep is inconsistent; as always, she becomes very restless after wine. In the past, she could work everything out through Tai Chi, which was fantastic, but that stopped a few years ago.
AnalysisComplaints: restlessness (a complaint in the head) and bladder/colon (a complaint in the pelvis): Liliales, we can extrapolate this to the Liliidae. Always worrying about her husband and his family, Silicon series aspects. Her work takes up a large part of her attention: about colleagues, how the group functions, confirming Silicon series (more than Iron series, the work as such). Phase 5: about her emotions, she can explode, ‘run around’ at work, is cheerful, makes good contact, communicative as we know from Phosphor. No indications for other phases: 3-633.55.00.
Stage 9: ‘smart’ as we know from Europium, constantly seeking solutions, walking on tiptoes (here the stage is both a theme, a reaction, a solution, and a burden). Repertorium rubric ‘sleeplessness alcohol’ mentions Agave.
Prescription: Agave americana C200.
Follow-upAfter one dose, everything immediately settled: “It calmed down.” She no longer has anxiety. Her bowels work normally again. A family member announced they were going to pass away; afterward, she was able to sleep. She can now accept it, but at the same time, she still feels sadness and can feel furious inside when irritated. Occasionally, she is still ‘hyper,’ chatting excessively and meddling in everything at work. She thinks her colleagues are fed up with her. She doesn’t mind herself, but she fears she might go too far again. Work is becoming more enjoyable for her; they have asked her to start coaching others. After an explanation about Liliidae (‘above and below’ symptoms, here restlessness), she remembers: that after the improvement, she thought she had lice at one point because she had so much itching on her head. The theme of the family and a key symptom were decisive here. Classe and Phase are recognizable in the situation and how she deals with it, while the Stadium stands out. Noteworthy is that the sleep problem after alcohol has existed for years, which may also reflect the Liliidae theme: the group she feels connected to and is a part of as her main focus. Silicon series, the family or group of colleagues she worries about and gets angry with (indicative of Phase 5). Work: expansion, new systems, also Phase 5 as a solution and ambition. The concerns of recent months—what occupies her mind, what gives her tension, and what she focuses on—are her partner and family. This is also where her attention and ‘awareness’ are throughout the day. The practical aspect of work, which at the time indicated Iron series, no longer plays a dominant role; it is no longer a burden. To determine the Classe, you pay attention to: where thoughts naturally go, where they linger, what patterns exist, what preoccupies this person, what they are sensitive to, and what themes are present.
