A woman, middle-aged. She is very sensitive to smells, she smells and defines everything. Her voice often keeps trailing off, down to a whisper. Not sighing anymore, disappearing under the table and without ‘expressive power’, but still decreasing and soft. She is also sensitive to light, ‘light makes me happy, but is quickly too much’; she wears sunglasses or sits with her back to the light. Since puberty already she has been bothered by the reflection of snow or of knives. She has an interest in painting, poetry, much philosophy and spirituality. For years she had migraine, this improved after Alchemilla officinalis. After four months the migraine begins to come on again, no longer so sharp and vicious, but nagging and whiny (previously she described the pain as a ‘sword’). She then has pain on the right at the face and at the teeth, she is then ice-cold but benefits from ice on the head. During the pain she is listless, malaise, she gets nothing done. The migraine is linked to menstruation, before or after; the cycle alternates between 21 or 29 days. Before the pain comes, she notices that she starts sighing, and often touches her head. She is cheerful. She puts off things she does not feel like doing. She gets fed up with this, all that postponing, that flight behavior. ‘It is my own mess, my own inheritance’. She looks up to it, will it go well?
I often adapt myself, for the sake of peace, then do not do what I myself feel like, what I myself enjoy. All day I do what I had not intended. I am very sensitive to smells, and to voices, I immediately hear whether something is convenient or not. Looks, body language. She seems to sense much literally; the ‘probing’ of atmosphere and surroundings as known in
Malvales is not visible, here it is more a quick and direct ‘grasping’, adsorbing or absorbing of atmosphere and mood. She is quickly bothered by coffee, more than two cups gives an uncomfortable feeling, a trembling of the cells, it feels like hypoglycaemia.
At home, when I once stood up for my brother, mother immediately said “now you are going to create two camps” (opening your mouth results in shutting off, shutting out, and not opening your mouth is also shutting off.
Malvales theme). Grandfather came to eat every day, left his stamp on things, a duty to behave a certain way. (if I ask about the marriage, she immediately closes off). At home it was not light-hearted, I just fled, that is not done. Slipping through everywhere, ‘I’ll just keep quiet’, as a motto.
Few girlfriends; if I even had the nerve to bring them home, mother would demonstratively start cleaning everything immediately. So I had few girlfriends.
When I could no longer cope with my relationship, I got a lot of crying fits and was upset. Psychologically I am always the ‘scapegoat’, my partner did not support me either (need for support).
The great disappointment in the marriage was: not being able to share anything, the beautiful things, my husband does not see it. My intuition is boundlessly good, I always sensed whether something was up with the children, at school for example.
Analysis Sensitive, sensing and wanting to comply as a state of being (
Malvales). Pain at the trigeminal nerve (
Tilia europaea), postponing; actually getting things ready, almost getting round to it (
Stage 9), looking up to things but still knowing what she wants and will do (
Stage 6-9), weakness in the voice (
Malvales), speech that starts well but weakens, just before the sentence or the emphasis has to be placed (
Stage 7-9), ‘I’ll just say nothing’ (
Tilia europaea, interest in art and theater (
Malvales), she always dreaded the rehearsals because of a lack of energy, would sign up but had to cancel at the last minute (
Stage 9), sensitive to giving and receiving attention (
Malvales), and reacting to that very alertly (
Tilia europaea).
Planttheory (Scholten et al.) gives characteristics for the Tiliodeae: estranged, separated, discouraged, no or useless communication, unattainable love).
Malvales characteristics: loyalty conflict, not loyal to themselves, showing anger aggravates, anger is not allowed, it strikes back, speech as a prominent aspect, characteristic.
Prescription:
Tilia europaea, MK.
Follow upAfter five weeks she is satisfied, despite the fact that migraine has occurred three more times: she has more energy, she was able to double her number of appointments, she feels better, is more cheerful, the neck and shoulders are less often and less severely tense. She has had a busy time with informal care, did have a feeling that the headache would come, but it did not push through, as it previously did in busy periods. She could make choices quickly, without endless preparation. Normally she had to put everything into a schedule, think it over, and doubt whether the preparations were now really complete. Thus she prepared an evening, without tension, without postponing, without stress or headache. That has not happened in years. She drank linden blossom tea for a few days, but got a lot of heartburn from it. After intake she immediately had a warm head, two dreams, and much sleeping. The dream was about the past, mother could not make her favorite choice, ‘if only she had got up earlier’. After that followed an anxiety dream, someone was trying to come in through the window in the middle of the night, she poured hot tea water over the hands (dream symbolism: intruders, which stands for unwanted thoughts, feelings, mother as a care or as her past. A follow-up dream often comes when the message of the dream has not yet been understood; only when the impression has been processed do the dreams disappear). For the two days and nights after that she was ice-cold, and she had pasty stools.
She has also canceled a meeting and an obligation, without feeling guilty. She acts more quickly, more purposefully, without doubt about the decisions she makes. She now simply does the things she enjoys, without discussion and without it creating tension. The more tired I am, the more quickly I slip into that role of helping and adapting, doing what I think is expected.

Tilia tomentosa case material plays a role: a strong need for attention and physical touch with attention (‘feel me, touch me’). This can be greater than average, it can also be that there was a shortage of it. The clingy quality that belongs to Tilia is here more active than passive, possibly out of expectation. Subjectively a lack, or whether this was sought with ‘clinginess’, before she collapsed and developed a
Rosaceae picture, is not clear. Because she has the tendency to go out too much and stay out, which is unusual in a
Malvales indication, it seems that she goes to fetch the attention, instead of waiting for it, catching it. In this way she makes herself very vulnerable, manipulable, and loses a lot of energy.
This case is from 2009, before
Qjure was developed. We clearly see here the
Phase 3 aspect: adapting, dependence, not yet having reached the goal, there is still much to do. The
Silver series aspect we see in the art.
Malvales characteristics in abundance: the voice, the sensitivity, the sensing.
