Family
Psychotria nervosa A young woman aged 32, she is sturdy with an oval shape in body and head, a clear gaze, and she makes open contact. Her voice is metallic and loud. Two years ago, she developed symptoms, which were diagnosed as Lofgren's syndrome, a form of Sjögren's syndrome. It started with swollen feet and shortness of breath, and she was given prednison. Since then, she has been exhausted, unable to lift her arms or talk due to fatigue. All her life, she has suffered from lung problems, infections, allergies, asthma, and back pain. She has also always had abdominal problems, with very hard or soft stools, or she has to run to the toilet due to acute urgency. She always has a bloated stomach, but she is used to it. She has been involved in top-level sport all her life, a team sport in which she was selected for the national team. It was a difficult decision to stop, and it affected her greatly. The selection process was tough; she was always seen as too fat by the coach, she developed an eating disorder, and became depressed. After that, she had to learn to live again. She has ADHD, she is now drained of energy at work, and at home, she feels worthless. It feels like she has the flu all the time, with the same heaviness in her arms, she feels the fatigue coming on: bam. Then it takes days before it's over. She can push through anything until she gets knocked down. She now works 50% as child therapist. She enjoys the work, working with the body, working with children. She sees that regular care is not working well; this work is truly her passion. She has slept poorly for as long as she can remember, despite strong sleeping medication. She has fears at night; when she lies down, her brain ‘turns on’; she is afraid of burglars; she invents the craziest fantasies; it is not safe; she is afraid of becoming afraid. She had this as a child, which is why her mother slept with her. When she sleeps with someone she trusts, she is fine. Dreams: she saw people standing in the hallway. When she became ill, she ate very healthily for a while. After exercising, there was no one left to decide what she could and couldn't eat; she started ‘living again, seeking fun’. She grew up with her mother, who was stable. Her father was never emotionally present; she felt rejected by him, and she stopped contact with him for a while. Her periods were always very painful; she was doubled over in pain, and she used the contraceptive pill.

Follow-upThe day after taking the remedy, she felt very nauseous all day. After that, her fatigue improved, and she can do more, take long walks. After three weeks, after a few good days ‘as usual’, as before, she has a relapse that lasts only two days. She now says that she always suffers from balance problems when she is tired, she feels dizzy, and she quickly suffers from motion sickness (Phase 3). She still meditates and takes breaks between work. She can get a strange feeling in her lower abdomen, which then spreads as pain to her lower back and lumbar-sacral region. She can now read again, which she was too tired to do before. She now dreams more often. Stress still affects her intestines, but no longer causes pain. More and more good days follows, and the infections stay away.
