Case by Maarten van der Meer
A 61-year-old man, the “rough husk, white sprit” type, he has skin complaints. The hands are full of flakes all around, in thick slices. To a lesser extent also the forearms and lower legs. He has bursts of itching attacks, and with rubbing the moisture starts to come out. It started last year, first on the forearms, with scratching it turned red. It then gives him terrible itching, then it turns fire-red, and it has also been opened. At first, he thought it was an allergy to disinfectant at work, but with the use of other gloves, it became a little less. Other than that he has no complaints he says, he is never sick. Five years ago he had kidney surgery, during a check-up, they found a small tumor, and since then the check-ups have been ok. He has a lot of heartburn, due to a diaphragm rupture. He also has a lot of hiccups. Work is very busy, but he is having a good time. It is hectic, the last few years it has been getting worse, he is a company manager. He is always busy, at work, or with gardening, sports, and chores. Complaints from his parents are unknown, he was adopted. Since adolescence he has had phobias, if he can't get away he has fears. He can live with it, but he started drinking a lot because of it. For years he used medication. He gets restless in his head quickly because of it and becomes anxious because of it. Blood tests are negative. After
Juglans regia, he had no itching for a week.
Analysisa few characteristics are evident:
Phase 7: adoption, alcohol use, theme end, finished, over (when leaving he also asks for an aphrodisiac).
Series 6: allergy component, own business previously, addiction.
Series 3: subcutaneous, family (as a theme and in this
Phase 7). So we have clues to look for within the
Caryophyllidae, Gold series3.
Stage 15: Over the top (the skin), wanting away, wanting out. With these characteristics, namely,
Phase 7, Gold series3, and
Stage 15 were searched for possibilities:
Prescription: 1:
Drosera rotundifolia, after this it went well for four days, but with work, it started again, but less bad, there is not much itching now, the palms are still rough, not scaly anymore, occasionally it feels like they are poking it with a needle. Also still a rash just below the wrist, on the inside. Legs and arms are not too bad. It is healing better now. After showering, the skin is no longer flaky. Lately, he has been more hungry. The skin is ameliorated, but: the restlessness in his head is unchanged: then he feels uncomfortable, and he wants to get away, with unexpected things. He prefers to know everything in advance. His need for stability points to
Phase 4. Not bad, but the restlessness remains.
Review the case, the drug did work, an option then is to hold some of the components (meaning Class, Phase, and Stage) as a new starting point. Reverse Phase and Subphase, which brings you to the Paronichiae. The basis of
Phase 4 now has become more clear, he wants certainty, and need stability. The reaction when having “no control,” is wanting to get away, or fleeing into alcohol of
Phase 7. The base or carpet pad refers to the Phase. Above that, more to the “outside,” often a reaction, more visible is the Subphase. This brings us to
Paronychieae.
Prescription: Paronychia illecebrum C200
Follow upThe rash is now rapidly less severe, there are fewer attacks, something every few days. The palms are now fine, the back of the hand is still occasionally red for a while, and the arm has occasional pimples. Stomach is calm now (palms of hands points to de bowels). On the foot sometimes on the instep. After two months the skin is clean. The restlessness in his head is also less now, and he sleeps better. For a while he had a pulsation in his hands when he put them down, but after a few weeks that was gone. After three months the rash comes back slightly, after he stopped smoking, and because of that he now starts to feel some agitation again, now it is not panic but just shaky for a while and then it goes away again. Paronychia is repeated successfully.
