Heracleum sphondiliumA 60-year-old woman, she appears very independent in her appearance and behavior. She moves cautiously and efficiently, almost mechanically, talks actively, and is animated with her arms, often closing her eyes to concentrate. She sits centrally, is clearly present, aloof, and talks in a directive manner, without detours and descriptively about herself and her complaints. Five years ago, she started having problems with her eyes; light hurt her, she couldn't blink, and she was diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome. She has no tears and no saliva, but she recovered after taking
Juniperus sabina several times, so she can live with it well and uses eye drops. For the past year, she has had spots on her legs, which are getting worse. Her legs feel like they are on fire, and she has a burning sensation throughout her body, which prevents her from sleeping well. She feels depressed and has been unable to work for some time.
Twenty years ago, she had a meningioma, which was treated with radiation, followed by a divorce; these were “life-changing events.” Her work provided distraction and direction in her life. Her work was very stressful, but she needed to earn money. She is hard on herself and will try anything she has to do. She took an additional course, and things went better in her new position. Previously, she had a lot of responsibility, little appreciation, and was monitored closely. Now she experiences freedom and can speak her mind. That is important to her. Her mother came here from a war zone, against her will. Choosing her words carefully, she says that in her experience, her mother was emotionless. She was a quiet child; her motto was ‘seize your opportunities’. She went to college and entered a different life. This brought her into conflict with her parents, and she no longer wanted to see them. The relationship never improved; her mother felt superior to everyone else. She began to develop herself. As a child, she was lonely, she says in tears. She is sensitive to atmospheres, she knows when people are telling the truth, and she is very serious. Her hobbies are sports, dancing, gardening, and yoga. As a child, she suffered from stress-induced alopecia.
Analysis 1:Lanthanides: she is independent, aloof in her abilities, aware of ‘the Shadow’ even in her youth, alone, Sjögren's syndrome, and the eyes as an organ.
The most painful part of the story is found in a section titled ‘estranged mother’ and ‘estranged family’.
Here we see
Holmium-phosphoricum,
Holmium-muriaticum, and
Ytterbium-phosphoricum.
Because of her openness, her studies were an ‘escape’ to independence, both from home and at work. A
Phosphorus salt was chosen. She broke off contact herself, which fits with
Stage 13; there is not enough ‘distance’ or the theme of ‘giving up’ present to recongise
Stage 16.
Prescription:
Holmium phosphoricum C200.
Follow-upHer legs cooled down quickly. After a few days, she had a pressing feeling on her head during exercise. A few times, she still had ‘heavy’ legs, and after walking for a long time, she had small spots. She can do more; she is becoming socially active again, and her energy is increasing. She is sleeping better and is no longer waking up as often. She can work again. Things are getting better and better. After three months, a lot has happened: she had a detailed dream about dying and how she died. In the dream that followed, she had to flee from the attic to the basement (explanation: death in a drream means farewell, but also a new beginning; the house usually represents the body; she flees from her head—consciousness to the basement, the subconscious). A few days later, she had a dream in which her mother had died, but no one had told her (the mother in a dream usually represents your own past). The following week, she develops blisters, first on the sides of her legs and then on her arms. It doesn't burn, but it does leave spots that look like bruises. Her blood values are good. The heavy legs are gone. Her energy is better, she now does things she enjoys, she can set her own boundaries more powerfully, she can now decide for herself, and make choices. She has always been clear, but now she can express it again. Previously, she often fell into the “pitfall” when her mother triggered something. She has heard so often, “Don't do it, it's pointless.” She is a chatterbox, but as a child, she was always silenced and labeled negatively (here we see the
Phosphorus component). As a child, she already felt that there was no room to be or feel different. Her children are still struggling with the divorce. In her upbringing, she was told, “You shouldn't seek help from a psychologist, because then you're crazy.” Because there has been good progress, the medication was not repeated. The upward trend will be monitored for a few more months. The outbursts return slightly for two months, then everything is calm. Energy, sleep, and resistance remain good. She had complaints once more after eating fish, which she does not like (
Phosphorus). There is still progress, so wait again.
She feels fine for eight months. In recent weeks, her legs have been burning again, with occasional pinpoint bleeding and large red spots on her thighs. In recent weeks, it has not gone away, and the bruises are now deeper than before. She cannot even bend her arms because of the pain and swelling. She has a fever again and feels like she is “on fire.” She has had two allergic reactions: once after trying on clothes and once after eating pizza. Both her skin and gastrointestinal tract react to the trigger. She develops large bumps, fluid-filled blisters that turn into bruises. This season, she has winter fingers again, just like long ago. Blood tests for rheumatism are negative, and Sjögren's positive. Sleep is good, digestion is good.
Analysis 2A relapse without cause calls for a new analysis. Can it be better? The blisters came on after the dreams, beingn more conscious of her body, more living in her body in stead of in her mind, and more realizing the past.
Series 6 is still clear. Compare the Lanthanide characteristics: Sjögren's syndrome, independence, and being on her own.
Apiales: distant mother, so 3-666.70,
Phase 7 we see in the break with parents, the history in war.
Phase 5, 3-666.75.00: wanting to move on, wanting more, congestion in the vessels, and inflammation.
Q-search has been used, search term ‘burning’ with filters Clade 66 and
Phase 7: this gives Heracleum sphondilium, Branca ursinum in much literature. Known from previous case studies of meningioma. Hogweed, as a plant, is known for causing large blisters and burning rashes on skin contact.
Tordilioideae: the theme of letting go, loss is known as theme in both Branca and Coriander, as well as a stressful factor and as a resolving capacity.
Prescription: Heracleum sphondilium MK.
Follow-upAfter the remady, she was restless for a few days, bordering on aggressive. She was able to control herself at work, but it was irritating for those around her and for herself. During those same few days, her legs felt very hot, and she couldn't stand wearing stockings. Since then, she has had no more hot flashes. After that, her skin was fine for weeks. She has had two more allergic reactions with redness and blisters after trying on new clothes and after eating pizza. She also had an allergic reaction with red spots on her forearm after working in the garden. She can tolerate wine again. Her energy and mood are good, and she is coping well with work. The next year she is fine.
