There is a contrast between a nice, happy looking gathering, a neigbourhood party on the one hand and on the other hand the sickening atmosphere of bullying the weak and unintelligent members of the group.
People who are nice when on their own but become nasty as a group.

Intriguers, abettors, undercover agents, putting people up against each other.
People that like to have a monopoly, that want to buy everything and everyone.
Disgusting, poisonous, sickening atmosphere in a community.
Internal parasites, parasites on themselves.
Stability, rigid, fixed.
The village idiot.
