Case by Jan Scholten.
Boy, 12 years old, autism. His speech is very limited, he only repeats words. He understands a lot and has taught himself the alphabet and reading. The autism started when he was one and a half years old after a DTP vaccination. He then had a fever, could not sleep and was constantly crying and screaming like a wild animal. He also got diarrhoea due to an infection with
Escherichia coli, which was treated with antibiotics in a hospital. When he came home, he did not recognise anyone and was afraid of everything and everyone. He became afraid of lights, doors, being touched, and pushed his mother and grandmother away.
He regularly had inflammations such as influenza, ear infection, tonsillitis. This made him very weak and he could not stand or walk properly. This was because he also had a hip infection, whereby he lay down with his legs pulled up.
He is always very busy, very active, hyperactive. Then he is loud and jumps like a kangaroo. He is not aggressive towards others but he is aggressive towards himself, for example by pinching his cheeks until they bleed.
He likes music very much and can remember songs and artists. Recently he has also become fascinated with video, and watches on YouTube how they make dough for bread. He likes to travel, for example by bus but also by walking. He likes maps with roads and cities on them. He is often monomaniacal, for example in the park he is constantly playing with sticks, crushing berries with his feet or stripping the bark from trees.
He is very solitary and makes little contact. He makes contact mainly with his parents and a little with his teachers. He ignores all attempts by other children to make contact with him. At school, he is very popular with the teachers.
He has reasonable contact with his parents. His parents would probably have divorced if he had not been born. He has a two-year younger sister who constantly wants to play with him. But he is not a big fan of his sister and constantly tries to get rid of her. He is jealous of her, of the attention she gets and cannot stand her crying.
He is easily bored, more so once he knows how to do something.
Physically he is very fit, climbs ladders and has taught himself to ride a bicycle and a scooter.
During his pregnancy, his parents often argued about money. His father had problems finding a job. They also had different views on life. His mother was more of a home person and his father more of a party person. He had a natural birth at 39 weeks. The umbilical cord was around his neck twice and he spent a day in the incubator with light because of high bilirubin.

Prescription: 3-442.16.13,
Pteris cretica C30.
Follow upAfter the first dose of
Pteris cretica C30 he became a bit hyperactive, often clapping his hands or smashing his fist to his other hand palm. After the second dose he started staring at buildings again. He did not want to be called by his name. He was just running. He was also anxious again. All these symptoms were familiar from before. After the third dose, he became less hyperactive and less afraid.
Gradually, he started making more contact with his mother, holding her hand gently, embracing or kissing her. He suddenly started to ride his bike and his scooter again. He had fewer outbursts of anger, and when he did he could be calmed down more quickly. He went to sleep later but his sleep was much more pleasant, deeper and less restless. He slept through the night. His speech increased and he began to say short phrases.
Microsorum punctatum did well, but did not hold after a few repetitions.
