Case by Jan Scholten.
Boy, 13, autism. He has problems with understanding things. He does not understand what he has read, he cannot talk well. He tends to repeat questions to his mother like how many days has September. He is fascinated with numbers. He goes to a private nursery and is eager to learn. He mastered letters and numbers. He is eager to learn, but it gives him also stress and then he starts biting his hand. He likes cartoons and fairy tales, and repeats them very often; he talks to himself parts of the cartoons, a kind of echolalia.
He has no shame and likes to undress when he is at home.
MotionAt seven months he had colic and weak muscles so that he could not lift his head very easily. His balance is not very good, he can easily fall over. He did not crawl and started walking at 13 months. His motor development is okay, except for fine manipulations like drawing and writing. He has tics, like vocal tics, shaking his head, squinting his eyes, looking upwards, and opening his mouth. He has a kind of slight convulsions, myoclonic, in the morning during sleep, with his eyes wide open and stretching out his arms to his parents. It was diagnosed as the consequence of hypoxia during labor.
ContactsHe has very good contact with his mother and likes to kiss cuddle and hug her very frequently. He also has very good contact with his father and likes to work with him on the farm. He likes to help his father on the farm, riding a tractor or a motorbike. He likes to become a firefighter like his father.
He has two good friends, plays with them, run and catch especially.
He likes company and new people, and likes to hug aunts and uncles saying “I love you, auntie".
He is very seldom angry, only when his mother takes his phone away, when he wants something that he doesn‘t get, or when he is interrupted. When he is angry he says “I will hit you”, or “The police will come and get you”. He likes to play with his younger brother. He gets nervous and annoyed by his younger sister. He is apologising a thousand times when his mother is angry with him.
MindHe has a fear of dogs since he has been bitten in his calf.
He has a fear of ghosts and open windows in the night, out of fear of being kidnapped.
He is hypersensitive to music.
He likes to travel by car or drive himself.
He is good with Google Maps and has a good orientation.
Medical historyDuring the pregnancy his mother had heartburn, coming from stress with her mother-in-law. His mother felt annoyed by the demanding and impatient behaviour of her mother-in-law. The distress was worse from the shouting of his father at his mother.
The labor was on time but lasted long because there was no dilatation and very few contractions. In the end, the doctors decided on a Caesarean section because of the lack of progress.
At six months he had bronchitis with lack of air, blocked nose, no fever, and worse at night.
He was operated on a scrotal hernia, at 6.
He had asthma for several years, with wheezing, difficulty breathing, and coughing until vomiting. The asthma was worse from strong winds and better from a diet without gluten, dairy products, and sugar.
He was diagnosed with low thyroid function.
GeneralWeather: a desire to be outside.
Desires: dried bread and dry cornflakes especially, he is very picky.
Aversions: potatoes, soup, cake, muffins, or new things.
Sleep: good; sometimes waking from nightmares, storms, or fire alarms.
AnalysisThe autism and retardation are strong indications for
Pteridophyta.
The retardation also points to

Carbon series.
That brings one to

This brings one to
Cheilanthoideae: 3-442.13.00.
In the proving of
Doryopteris pedata there is somnambulism, tunnel vision, and functioning like an automaton.
Prescription:

Follow upAs a reaction he got a headache for 11 days and an open mouth, after that it was okay. With the second and third dose of the remedy he got similar symptoms but shorter. He is more emotionally stable and less angry when his teacher changes routines. He can read notes logically and is writing nicer, especially when he writes slowly. He likes to go to school, where he is more happy and makes more contact. He makes great progress, and he is more polite, helpful, and conflict-free. His Quality of life went from 85 to 95.
