Case by Tomas Vyboch.
Boy, 8 years old, autismThe main problem is his speech. He doesn't talk, or he only talks when he wants to. He usually only answers "yes" and "no" to questions. He does not have the initiative to start a conversation, also maintaining a conversation is a problem. He lives in his own world. He only asks questions if he wants something. He has a problem with socialization. He does not reject children, he plays next to them, but not with them. He does not interact with them, preferring to play alone.
Pregnancy
The mother had a good pregnancy. He was born naturally on time. Mother was under stress because she was going to various speech therapies for her older son, and she was afraid that she would have to do the same with the younger one. The birth was natural, with bonding. The boy was breastfed for 6 months.
His parents noticed that something was wrong when he was 3.5 years old. He did not play like other children. He was playing alone. He didn't make good eye contact. They think it is related to vaccination. His speech was very weak. It's better now, but He can't converse, act properly. The only child he talks to is his older brother.
His teacher says He must push him to finish things at school. He has a poor attention span. He is constantly moving. Runs up and down the stairs for no reason.
He does not perceive danger. If he sees something on the other side of the street, he runs there without looking to see if a car is coming.
Sometimes an obsession appears. Once, for example, he put all the cleaning products in the bathroom, and the family couldn't go in there for a month. Now he is obsessed with ring bells. When he leaves the house, he rings every bell on the street. There are 60 houses around there. He knows exactly which house everyone lives in. He constantly draws a map of the streets in his surroundings. Another obsession is that he tears off stickers from everything, from boxes, books. Wherever there is a sticker, he will take it down. He is still watching one episode of the fairy tale. He can watch it a thousand times.
If he is angry, he repeats certain phrases over and over.
He has a hard time falling asleep. He needs to have the light on and someone to be with him. He is sensitive to light and noise. The light is too strong for him in the supermarket, he covers his eyes there and cuddles with his mother.
Mother thinks that he concentrates better at school because there are rules.
Apart from his family, he has no contact at all. He tried to play with other children, but he couldn't.
He likes to play hide and seek, also with play dough. He likes to climb high places. He is constantly on the move, that's why he can't concentrate.
He is never aggressive; he does not hit anyone.
He has a very good relationship with his father.
Compared to other autistic children, mother says that he does not avoid being touched. He does not isolate himself. He does not reject other children, he is among them, but he has no contact with them.
He used to be afraid of spiders. He is afraid of mosquitoes and flies.

Follow up After 3 months his mother says: He is starting to talk a lot more, he listens to us, his concentration and eye contact have improved. He started asking questions. He started playing with the children on the playground and talking to them. Used more complex sentences. He didn't want to work and cooperate at school before, now there is no problem. In the past He didn't answer questions at all if he didn't want to. He always answers now. In the past he never talked about his feelings, now he started. He says he is tired, hungry, or cold. He uses more words. In the past he used sentences without a verb, now he speaks with a verb. He talks about what he did at school.
He has already started to open the conversation himself. Hyperactivity improved slightly. His obsessions also eased. When I tell him not to ring the bells, he can control himself.
The speech therapist was surprised by his progress.
He still needs to sleep with someone. The mother is very satisfied with the medicine.
