Region: Greece, Turkey, Caucasus, Lebanon.
Habitat: damp shady places and near river banks.
BotanyHerb; vine.
Root: stoudy cylindrical, shordy branched.
Stems: 18 to 50 cm tall, erect and flexible.
Leaves: 6 to 16 cm long, 4 to 13 cm wide; ovate orbicular. Flower: tube 'U ' shaped, 5 to 11 cm long; greenish-purple, slightly hairy outside; blade 2 to 6 cm long, cordate ovate; dark brown with cream centre heavily purplish mottled; blooming spring to summer.
