BotanyUsually a climbing woody plant; sometimes adopts a more shrub-like habit with more or less scrambling branches.
Stem: vigorous; up to 5cm wide.
Region: east Asia, southern China, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines.
Habitat: sparse forests in southern China; primary and secondary rain-forests, along forest-edges, river-banks; elevations up to 800 metres in Malaysia.
