Nepenthes distillatoria

Year 2026, Issue 6, Article 3CaseAuthor: Olga Fatoula
2010: Victoria is a woman, 38 years old.
Chief complaint – cough for many years, angina.
Diagnosis – atrophic pharyngitis, incurable.
Aggravation: sour, sweet, spicy. Cold air.
“I put on a scarf in one layer at +14C, if it is colder – I put on two layers”.
Better humid air and a face mask at all times.
The throat is always sore; and the cough is permanent, after walking, after laughing, after eating.
“It washes me out”.
Better to lie down in warmth and not to talk.
“A thought is, the life compels me to be silent. I need to control myself, my voice, and what I say.
“It is a desperate situation, no one can help me. I am alone. Separated from the whole, do not have any relationship to anyone, and nobody cares, whether you exist or not.
“The sore spot got me to the limit, there is no strength, fatigue, I cannot move. It irritates me, I want to kill everyone, blow up the universe, hatred of doctors, to destroy this world, which introduced me to this horror. No one can help me, I hate them, I would smash, kill them for lying, without a thought of mercy. Hopelessness, no one will help.
“Throat sensation – it dries up, dry like a tree leaf. Wounded, dry, cracking.
“Water is good for me in any and every way. I consume a lot of liquid stuff.
“When I drink, my every cell grows. They were shriveled, and then filled with water. They straighten out. It’s freshness after the rain. I feel good – warm, humid, condensation.”
- What kind of plants?
“They must have big leaves. In the tropics. The wettest climatic zone, 90% humidity.”
She lives in a small town 500 km away from Moscow.
She lives with her mom. Not married. She meets with a boyfriend from time to time; he is a long-distance truck driver. He doesn't want to marry, and he doesn't want children.
She works in a customs and logistics firm of her relative, doing documentation.
She is engaged in yoga, Ayurveda, meditation.
Her sister says that she is very secretive; she does not tell anything about herself, and “we see her emotions only when she is furious”.
She took offence at her father since a long time, and she did not speak to him for three years. When he died, she heard the knock of a fall behind the wall; she called her mother and said, “I think HE is dead”. She never named him as father, and she did not express any emotions. She may also not talk to her mother for weeks, although they live together.
She communicates mainly with her sister and her sister’s family. She really wants to quit her job. She often scolds in the office. They don’t fire her only because the company belongs to her sister’s husband (almost a family firm).
Analysis. The speech was very quick, so initially I thought of an Insect remedy.
Plant: sensitivity. Despite the desire to kill everyone, the destruction, to blow up the universe, this is not an animal.
66. She is smart enough, is interested in various spiritual practices, is engaged in self-development, healing practices, Ayurveda, she thinks about life, about consciousness, is not attached / is not limited to one religion.
Series 3 – Problems with communication, relationships.
Phase 7 – In general, her reaction is withdrawal from the relationship. Her illness does the same: to leave, not to communicate, not to talk, and to lie down. And she chooses it herself, she opts for solitude.
Muriaticum-like: Resentment, against her mother, she does not talk with her for weeks. Resentment, against her father, she stopped communicating for several years, living in the same house, even at the moment of his death.
Phase 6 – she is still tolerated in the office and communicates with their sister because of family links.
Stage 12 – war.
Nepentes 200
I asked her to look at the tropical plants with which she would associate herself and her disease, and she sent me a photo of Nepentes.
6 weeks later, her email:
“To let you know, after taking your remedy (I didn’t take any other medicine), I had a feeling inside, like after a thunderstorm in hot weather, feeling fresh and clean.
Next day I noticed, I do not have my usual sore throat in the morning. It’s two weeks now that I wake up without pain in my throat.
For the first time in many years I got through the winter in a normal way.
I have reached a stage of development, when the life itself teaches me to live in the present moment. Like a path to go. Like a corridor.”
She never came to me again, but she regularly sends me her best wishes on holiday dates.
