Nemesia strumosa
Year 2024, Issue 3, Article 9CaseAuthor: Alexander Erlach
Case by Alexander ErlachA 27-year-old female patient comes to the initial anamnesis with various problems: Anxiety and panic disorder, hair loss, already several bad pap smears (conization is imminent), back tension, hay fever, irritable bowel syndrome with frequent abdominal pain, and difficulty falling asleep. An anxiety and panic disorder occurred for the first time 9 years ago, shortly before graduating from high school. At that time she improved thanks to psychotherapy, but the fears never went away completely. She is generally afraid of change, of transition, of new things, of the unknown that lies ahead. For a year now, everything has been worse again psychologically: nervous, everything is too much for her and, above all, she is unsure what to do next in life: should she continue studying and do her Master's degree? (She is a physiotherapist, employed in a practice, she is very conscientious at work and everything is going well). Should she stay with her current boyfriend? Is he the right one for life? Afraid of what would happen after a break-up. And: does she want a family, or should she concentrate on her job? She can't fall asleep because of her thoughts in the evening.
She has very high ideals, for example, she thinks that moving in together means: for life! She expects a lot from herself and others and is very critical of herself and others.AnalysisShe is a refined person, in a therapeutic profession, interested in deep life issues (Lanthanide quality), and the impression she makes to the outside world is important to her, she does a lot for it: Silver series, 665. She exaggerates in many things, does too much, wants to do it very precisely, meet high standards (Phase 5), at the same time she is very insecure, adapting, wants to please (Subphase 3). Scrophulariaceae: have high moral standards, are very critical of themselves and others. Stage: She only does a lot of things after she is completely sure that she can do them, e.g. learning to walk at 18 months and when she was sure: Stage 4.Follow upAfter Verbascum thapsus (665.53.04) the backache is worse on the day after the first dose, but then it improves, her mood also improves somewhat, less circling in her thoughts, but overall she still doesn't feel really well. The uncertainty as to whether she should stay with her boyfriend and about her professional future remains unchanged. In addition, new, frequent, previously unknown headaches appear, so she switches to Nemesia strumosa (665.53.05) within the same plant family.
After that, she feels much better again: she can now say what she wants much more clearly! Shortly afterwards, she decides to break up with her boyfriend and moves into her own apartment, and professionally she decides to start a Master's degree after all. The pollen season in the following months is very mild, the next pap smear is normal and the conization is no longer an issue, the abdominal pain no longer occurs at all.
In the 9 months since then, she has had around 5 doses of Nemesia strumosa, most recently she found that she felt so positive and stable inside that she only has one dose of the drug at home in reserve. Overall, she feels much better than a year ago and her quality of life has risen from around 60 to 85.
