Case by Jan ScholtenMan, 55, low blood pressure.He has a low blood pressure since he has been fired as the director of school. He had a conflict with the board of directors about how he managed the school. He was very idealistic trying to do the best for the pupils that were coming from lower social class. His job was everything for him. It was a disaster when he was fired. He often lies awake in the night thinking about what has happened with the school after he left. One building is destroyed, projects have been canceled at short time and in about a year the amount of pupils has declined from 300 to 150. Many of the teachers have left the school as the atmosphere has become harsh. He feels mortified and humiliated, because what has build up in many years was destroyed. In his time to school rule from 180 to 300 pupils and he won a prize for being the best director of a school.
In the past he had had high blood pressure, but that changed radically after his dismissal. His antihypertensive medication let to a kalium shortage and due to that pain in his chest. He felt sick and his vision became foggy. He wakes often in the middle of the night with anger about the situation.
He tries to find a new job in creative fields. He is busy with art and exhibitions.
He dreams about traveling through a city and getting stuck in the traffic; he want to drive under a viaduct and gets stuck; ending up in strange areas, like a labyrinth.
He loves nature.
