Agaricus muscariusName: Amanita muscaria.
English: Fly agaric; Fly amanita.
Content: hallucinogenic and toxic compounds; isoxazole derivative- ibotenic acid; decarboxylation product muscimole and muscazone; quarternery compounds muscarine and muscaridine.
General: nightsweats due to debilitating diseases, diabetes, antidote to atropine.
Action: increases secretions, perspiration, salivation.
Mind: hallucinations, euphoria.
Nervous: sunstroke; cholinergic effect on peripheral nervous system, chorea; paralysis.
Eyes: cataracts.
Lungs: dyspnoea.
Heart: frequency of pulse.
Stomach: vomiting.
Abdomen: muscles of intestine weak; increases abdominal secretions, duodenal catarrh, intestinal torpor.
Rectum: diarrhoea.
