666.44.07 Wyethia helenioides, CaseCase by Alex Leupen.
Man, 72, coeliac disease.
At 50 he got very tired, lost 10 kilograms, had anaemia, nausea and ulcers in the mouth, diarrhoea with incontinence. Eventually, the diagnosis of coeliac disease was made and he recovered mostly with a strict gluten free diet.
Since one year he has complaints again, despite his diet, a dry mouth and feeling as if his tongue is too thick. Drinking exacerbates the symptoms. He has a burning sensation in his mouth and his tongue.
He is a vigourous man, active on all fronts. He does everything in the household as his wife has Wegener’s granulomatosis. He is maintaining a large vegetable garden and doing restorations in the house of his divorced daughter.
AnalysisLanthanide: Wegener’s granulomatosis
Wyethia: coeliac disease and the oral mucosa; dry sensation in the nose, the posterior nares, the epiglottis and the pharynx.
