666.46.04 Brachyglottis repanda, CaseWoman, 30, arthritis.
She has rheumatic pains in her right leg, forearm and hand. The hands are the worst, especially the metacarpal and first interphalangeal joints. The joints are painful, < cold, < wet !, < massage, < before menses, > hot baths, > slow motion, < fast motion, < lying on painful side. The complaints are accompanied with heaviness, numbness and weakness. She has the feeling that she cannot hold anything in her hand anymore. It is as if her power and feeling has withdrawn to the interior. The outside of her hand has little feeling and power.
She has a painful spot between the scapula and eruptions on her arms, legs, back, groin, which are diagnosed as a candida infection.
She has inflamed and bleeding gums.
She has electric-like shocks in the back of her head.
She has low blood pressure.
Sleep is difficult, on falling asleep she gets frightened with heavy palpitations. She fears not being able to do things, to support herself and her child. In the past she was afraid of not succeeding at school.
The first seven years of her life she was ill very frequently. It cost her parents a lot of money because their insurance was not well organised. She had many inflammations of the frontal sinuses, more right than left. It started with a coryza, a running nose, which then stopped and gave rise to the frontal pains. She got many antibiotics for it.
As a child she had offensive perspiration of the feet. She had recurrent cystitis in her puberty for 2 years. The pains were cutting as from sharp knives during urination. Urination was difficult. She was given many antibiotics for it.
She has one son and the pregnancy was good. She had little complaints: bleeding at the 6th week, itch of the back in the night, thirst, -> milk. The labour was difficult, her child was too big and the doctors did an episiotomy. She lost a lot of blood and it took her a while to recover from it. She wants to become pregnant again but it will not succeed. One pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.
She has a negative image of herself ‘you can do nothing’, with a sensation of being worthless. It is due to her father who controlled her. He was negative about her, ‘she could do nothing, was worthless’. She was trying her best, to get his attention and approval. At school she had very good results but in vain. She is inclined to take the role of the victim. In dreams the same idea returns. She dreams of being threatened by Indians, burglars or crocodiles and then she hides.
Her mother used her as a talk-mate. Together they talked about the bad father and made plans to leave him. When she finished high school, it shocked her that her mother did not want to leave her father.
She is adapting to others with the hope that others will do that to her. She does not see what her own needs are. She felt like an extension of her parents. She had to do many things to keep alive.
As a child she decided to become invisible. She felt little and no-one, locked inside herself. She denied her own feelings, did not allow herself to feel what she did. Later in friendships she started to open herself more.
She is the eldest of three daughters.
