A woman of 50 feels depressed. She has problems in her marriage and doesn't feel understood or accepted by her husband. He tries to force her to help in his company, which she has done for many years but she didn't feel like a partner, as he always made the decisions and went his own way. She felt treated as stupid and awkward, someone that couldn't present good ideas and visions. This problem has been there for a long time and when it was prominent some 20 years earlier she had hyperthyroidism. It was some years after they had started the company and she didn't feel accepted as an equal. Before that she tried to prove that she could do things right and well, that she wasn't stupid and clumsy. This feeling had been there already in her childhood. Her father always knew things much better and always told her and the other siblings that they were doing things wrong. Then she also felt stupid and clumsy. At school she didn't do very well either. But she always tried to prove that she could do things.
The fight with her husband feels like a fight for autonomy. She wants to begin a new course of study in psychology. She wants to have new and more creative work.
She hates hypocrisy.
She’s very sensitive and knows how other people are. She lost this sensitivity to some extent after her crisis of hyperthyroidism.
She’s very communicative and open.
AnalysisThe fight with her husband is about having her say. She wants her part in decisions. This is a theme of the
Lanthanides. She confirms it by saying that it’s a fight for autonomy.
She tries to prove herself. She did it in the past, for herself, in school, for her father and against her husband. Proving herself is typical of
Stage 6, leading to
Neodymium.
She tries to prove that she’s not stupid and clumsy. These are concepts for
Phosphorus. That she tried it in school confirms it. One could think of
Sulphur, due to the fact that it has to do with her husband. Or one could think of Carbon, due to the fact that it has to do with her father. But the proving is not directed especially to one of them, it’s directed to not being stupid.
Combined this makes
Neodymium phosphoricum.
Confirmations are:
Lanthanides: hyperthyroidism (auto-immune), study psychology, -> creative work, hates hypocrisy, sensitive, knowing people, <- being unequal.
Phosphorus: communicative, open
Follow upA month after
Neodymium phosphoricum she's feeling much better. After 2 weeks she started feeling stronger. She went back to her husband, taking her place in the family. She felt strong enough to do things her way and not let him dominate her and her children anymore.
