Realizing autonomy to get self-worthAutonomy and self-worth are strongly connected for them. It can be difficult to combine them. They have the feeling that it will be a lot of work before they can have both independence and self-worth. They must achieve a lot before they can be autonomous and thus can be respected as a person. Or they have to work hard for their freedom. They achieve a lot through their hard work but it gives them the feeling of being under pressure, as if they don't have time enough to get all the work done.
Working hard to find inner valuesThey can also experience a desire for spiritual development. Then they also have the feeling that they have to work hard for it. They feel that their self-worth cannot depend on something superficial, but has to be found somewhere deep in their soul. Real self-worth can only be grounded in the deepest core of their being but it's hard work to achieve that. They can go into religious groups where they work hard for others. Saving other people can become a means to liberation. In the end it can be felt as if freedom can only be realized through God.
Father works hard to establish independenceTheir father is often also working hard for his freedom. He can have the idea that only hard work can bring autonomy. Realizing money and possessions can be seen as a form of independence. But their father can also be working hard in a psychological or spiritual field to achieve inner freedom.
Their father can also press them to become autonomous, He can put a lot of pressure on his children to become autonomous. As a consequence they can do the same to their own children as a father. Or they see autonomy as such an important thing that they work hard to give their children the means to become independent, by possessions or education.
