It is an excellent remedy in obstinate cases of spasmodic dysmenorrhea. It has a specific action in anginal attacks arising from coronary pathology, in chronic uraemic conditions, and in individuals with allergic tendencies.
Clinical Significance
Often referred to as a “hormonal gem,” the Pituitary gland remedy regulates the action of the corpus luteum in sterile women. It is especially useful in cases with defective breast development, amenorrhea, and cryptomenorrhea, and it has been observed to favor conception in many cases.
Indications
Amenorrhea with breast atrophy
Late menses, cycles longer than 30 days
Scanty menstruation associated with obesity
Menses accompanied by pain during the day
Marked dysmenorrhea, with pain especially pronounced the day before and the day after the onset of menses
It is also useful in difficult childbirth, characterized by painful uterine contractions due to excessive or disordered muscular activity.
Mental and Neurological Sphere
The remedy is associated with numerous obsessive fears and ideas, particularly related to the urogenital sphere such as fear of impotence or of passing urine. There may be obsessive ideation of a depressive or erotic nature, often centered on sexual inadequacy.
Head and Circulation
Headaches resembling those of Belladonna may be present, along with a tendency toward cerebral hemorrhages.
