19. Case of Delayed speechHistory of Complaints: A 5-year-old male child, the only boy in the family, was pampered, developed early, and had a strong memory. Before COVID, he was independent and understood everything. During COVID, prolonged phone exposure coincided with reduced responsiveness from age 4, leading to therapy. Earlier, the mother had somewhat neglected him due to attention from other family members; his behavior improved once she focused more on him.
Present Complaints: Speaks in single words and fragmented sentences, struggles to grasp story morals, and avoids eye contact. He had constipation a year ago, received magnetic therapy, and his speech slightly improved once constipation resolved.
Past History: Vaccinated, skin eruptions in hip area after vaccination.
Family History: Grandfather – Cardiac issues, DM, asthma; Grandmother – Breast cancer
Nature: Obedient, shy, introvert. He shows his anger by pushing others when his things are taken and tends to cling to possessions. He recently developed a fear of dogs after a bite and rabies vaccination and has long-standing fear of water from a pool accident. He is sensitive to his mother’s scolding.
Hobbies: Dancing, drawing, painting, singing, and traveling.
Physical Generals: Craves sweets; thermally hot; perspires on the head; sleep refreshing; urination increased.
Mother’s History During Pregnancy (MHDP): Experienced stress from her sister-in-law’s behavior and caring for her children. Doesn’t express anger but is goal-oriented and persistent. She now has a fear of heights after a fall at eight months. Desire for salty food and bread with butter and milk.
AnalysisEmotional sensitivity.
Stress from sex determination and caring for pregnancy and sister. High expectations from baby. Experienced a fall at 8 months of pregnancy; child also fell at 2 years. Child obstinate and shy. MHDP – very high expectations.
Rx: Silica 200C; Silica LM2 O. D. for 3 days. After 21 days, Silica LM3 O. D. for 3 days
Follow up: He is making progress in communication, using full sentences and responding to questions. Restlessness persists, and he struggles to sit still. At home, he is extroverted, in crowds, slightly shy. He is becoming more independent, follows instructions, and interacts better with adults. Speech has improved from robotic to more emotional, though progress is slow. Overall improvement noted, but further progress is limited.
Rx: DNA 30C, 200C B. D. for 2 days. After 2 weeks, Silica 200C, 1M followed by Silica LM11 O. D. for 15 days
Summary: After the DNA dose, his improvement accelerated. Anxiety resolved, he sits calmly, interacts well at school, meets new people, and talks about his thoughts. Behavior has become more typical of a male child, and he is questioning, understanding, and speaking normally.
