The emphasis on intellectual performance that we always consider as an important theme in Zincum could have been slightly biased by our culture. The metal has a bluish hue to it. Exposure to air causes oxidisation, but an initial layer of oxide prevents further oxidisation. It gets used to make protective layers, as in gutters etc.
Natriumzincate, NaZnO4, is used as a water softener.
