MycologyTerrestrial polypore
Cap: 4 to 20 cm wide; convex then flat or depressed; white then tan or pinkish; surface is dry and smooth but cracks with age.
Style: whitish; 3 to 10 cm tall, 1 to 4 cm wide; perhaps branching, with an equal or larger base.
TaxonomyClosely related to the rarer Albatrellus subrubescens.
