English: Western giant puffball.
Habitat: on composted soil. in meadows, fields, forests, on roadsides, sagebrush flats, pastures; sunny places.
Region: west side of the Rockies.
Use: edible.
MycologyPuffball mushroom; 10 to 70 cm; round or a flattened sphere; white or tan; covered with plaques or large pointed warts; interior is first firm and white, then yellow and slimy, finally powdery.
