Habitat: deciduous and coniferous woodlands; oak and pine forests; in silicate soil
Content: alpha-amanitin toxin, in very small amounts; bufotenin.
Use: inedible, often confused for the lethal death cap, Amanita phalloides; psychoactive.
MycologyType: mycorrhizal; flesh is white.; mell of rapeseed or potato; fruiting summer and autumn.
Cap: fleshy; flat; pale yellow, sometimes white; 4– to 0 cm wide; covered in irregular patches.
Stipe: white; with a ring and large volva at the base; 6 to 8 cm tall
