Elatinaceae: 2 genera, Elatine and Bergia; ± 40 species; Elatine are aquatic herbs; Bergia are subshrubs to shrubs; flowers bisexual, small, single or in cymes; opposite or whorled leaves.
Taxonomy
In the Apg3 classification Podostemaceae is a Family in the Order Malpighiales. It is closely related to Clusiaceae.
In the Plant theory Podostemaceae is placed in Suphase 1.
Introduction
They have a conflict between wanting to belong to the community and staying alone. They like to be part of a family and community but feel that they have to adapt too much so they prefer to stay alone, somewhere in nature.
