Introduction
“The rational marriage”
The theme of the rational marriage, marriage of convenience. On the outside everything looks great, loving, as if it is the perfect couple and marriage. On the inside there is bitterness and distance. But for the sake of the outside the couple goes on.
They often had a hard upbringing with emotional belittling and physical beatings, that had taught them to behave fashionably, perfectly, keeping up appearances in all circumstances. They have become hard, impenetrable, impervious as if armoured. They are continuously in the defence or attack but always in a polite, cultivated and courteous way.
