Botany: shrub or small tree, 5 m high; leaves alternate or geminate, oblong-elliptic, acuminate, acute at the base, glabrous or slightly puberulous, up to 20 cm long and 10 cm wide, petiole about 3 cm long; fascicles many-flowered; teeth broadly triangular; corolla puberulous outside, white or yellowish, lobes nearly 1/2 as long as the tube, oblong, sub-obtuse; anthers oblong; ovary conical; style terete, hairy.
