Taxonomy
In Apg3 classification Brownlowiaceae is treated a subfamily of Malvaceae, Brownlowioideae. In the older taxonomies they were mostly included in Tiliaceae.
In the Plant theory Brownlowiaceae is treated as a family and placed in Subphase 5.
