Case from Jan Scholten, Sankaran seminar 23-5-89, The HagueComplaint:A woman of 37 years comes with severe itching of the vagina, clitoris and also of the perineum and anus. There is nothing to see and she has no leucorrhoea. She has the itching already 10 years and tried everything: worm medicines, yogurt applications, vitamin B6, corticosteroids, but all in vain. Only the strongest corticosteroid, Betnelan, helped a little bit. The itch is very annoying and she has to scratch even when she is in public places and has to hide then for a few moments.
modalities:
< night, warm weather, before menses, sanitary towels, urination,
> cold application
not influenced by coition, stool or food. There is no diabetes.
Other complaints:
At 22 operation of the ovary because of sterility.
At 31 tonsilectomy because of frequent throat pains, which she still gets easily, especially from draft.
At 32 laparoscopy because the sterility. there was much connective tissue.
Detergents give urticaria or pimples.
Sensitive to insect stings. Once she was really sick from the sting of a horse-fly.
Nausea in cars since 10 years.
Stomach ache from coffee.
Generals:
Temperature: warm, < too hot, < draft, likes the sea. Sweats a lot.
Desires: good appetite, spicy, salt.
Aversions: honey, olives, ginger.
Menses: before she has a puffy face and swollen mammae, she is somewhat sad and irritable. At the beginning she has a bit headache and backache.
Sleep: good, refreshing. Position: mostly left side, never on abdomen.Psychical:Marriage is happy for 27 years. That she cannot get children was a disappointment, but she doesn't make a problem of it.
She worked as a hairdresser and in a shop for textiles.
Her family was strongly catholic. Her father was very strict and could beat her when she came home too late. She still doesn't like her father. They were with 6 children.
She is a content person, one feels that she likes life. She speaks freely has "her hearth on her tongue". She is a vivacious and uncomplicated. She is orderly, wants her house in order. She has no real fears. She has a dog herself.
