Tellurium
Year 2022, Issue 28, Article 1CaseAuthor: Rob Peters
In the periodic table tellurium is under selenium and sulphur. In Noordwijkerhout this year Sankaran spoke about the periodic table; the elements in the list of sulphur (vertical), according to him have to do with being insulted, suppressed, despised, the idea that one is not appreciated, they are looked down on for their feelings, which in turn can give a counter-reaction (compensation) in the sense of selfishness and contempt towards others.
Much of the pathology has to do with separation, separation, also literally as happens with sulphur in the form of eczema and in the case of tellurium, in eczema and smelly discharge (ear).
Not much is known about the mental image of tellurium. In Kent only a few mind-symptoms are known: anger, excitement, fear of touch, forgetful, irritability, weakness of memory for business, restlessness, nervousness, sadness mental depression tranquillity.
Clarke also gives little additional information about the mind-image.
The most important areas of action of tellurium are the skin, the ears and the back.
Many of the symptoms and pains come suddenly and disappear suddenly (add in the generalities page 1377). Furthermore, it is important that an aggravation occurs by the slightest touch.
On the skin we see ring-shaped lesions, and often a smelly sweat that a garlic or rotten fish air (also the otorrhoea).
There is itching that is exacerbated by cold air.
In chronic runners it would help if the discharge is sharp, etching and smells like rotten fish.
In the face heat flushes with sudden redening.
Eczema behind the ears. Around the ears in response to discharge.
Tellurium is known as the cure for sciatica and pains like a H.N.P., with the modalities: worse by coughing, sneezing, squeezing in feces, bending forward and lying on the painful side. Here too, touch is extremely painful.
Take another look at the sections in the Kent pages 1064, 1065 and 1066. Here you should especially differentiate with kal-i, kal-c, laugh and rhus-t.
Boericke and Clarke mention excessive sleepiness after a meal.Literature:Sankaran, The spirit of homeopathy.
Boericke, Materia Medica.
Clarke, Dictionary of Materia Medica.
Roger Morrison, Materia Medica.
