Lac delphinum

Year 2026, Issue 3, Article 4CaseAuthor: Tomas Vyboch
A 9-year-old girl suffers from panic attacks that began two months ago on the way to school. She starts shaking, crying, feels nauseous, and can’t breathe. Afterwards, she says she doesn’t like herself and doesn’t deserve her parents. She believes she’s not good enough, although she has excellent grades and isn’t pressured at home.
She often complains of stomach pain before school and has lied about canceled piano lessons to avoid going. She is very sensitive and caring, always helping younger children and classmates.
She says her stomach hurts when she feels afraid of her strict English teacher, who often shouts. When this happens, her heart races, and she trembles. She stays silent, looking at her notebook, though she wishes she had the courage to tell the teacher to stop yelling and be fair.
She loves dancing and drawing animals — especially dogs and cats. She wants to become a veterinarian or teacher, to help and comfort animals even in difficult situations. She admires strong animals like panthers, tigers, and lionesses, but especially loves their cubs.
She is afraid of spiders and the dark and once believed she saw ghosts at home, later recognizing one as her great-grandmother in a photo. She has a close bond with her classmates and says they feel like family; when she is sad, a hug from a friend makes everything better.
She was not breastfed.
AnalysisAnimal kingdom:
She really loves animals and wants to be a veterinarian. She directly attributes her problem to her strict English teacher, who often shouts.
Lanthanide:
She is very sensitive and reflective. She says she would try yelling at the teacher like the teacher yelled at her, so the teacher would understand how it feels. She has a strong human quality and wants to help animals. She is a daughter of a homeopath.
Carbon series:
She is insecure. She looks at her mother while speaking. She feels she does not deserve such good parents and that she is not good enough.
Lac delphinum:
She wants to help animals or be a teacher. She helps her schoolmates. These are traits of stage 7, and based on below Mangialavori’s characteristics, I assume this remedy could be in stage 7: “Lac delphinum generally feels weak, insecure, and underdeveloped. She may try to make up for inner emptiness and lack of identity through excessive service to others. Overly reliant on her family, she tends to follow their model of service to the utmost. Her only way to make a mark is to be even more giving than her very caring and generous parents.”
ReactionAfter 8 weeks she is doing very well. She can handle situations at school that she couldn’t manage before. She no longer sees the English teacher as a problem. Her stomach pain has stopped. They recently went on vacation and went snorkeling with dolphins. She was completely fascinated. The instructor noted that she seems happiest near the water and may need to live on the coast.
