Hypolepis millefolium

Year 2026, Issue 10, Article 4CaseAuthor: Martin Jakob
A 69-year-old man suffers from an AV block accompanied by atrial fibrillation and cardiac arrhythmias. At night, his pulse is often over 100; in the morning, it is around 60. He sleeps restlessly and poorly—or not at all. During the day, his pulse can also reach 130.
A cardioversion was performed, but one month later he had the same symptoms again. He was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and he suspects this is related to the medication Sedacoron, which he takes for his heart arrhythmia. He is very distressed that he has to take pills that are affecting his health. In addition, he suffers from tinnitus in his left ear.
He had a close relationship with his mother his whole life; they supported each other. His father had always considered himself very important and was always finding him jobs. He treated both him and his mother very harshly, which is why he and his mother grew closer; they were both afraid of him.
His father was a prisoner of war in Yugoslavia during World War II and for four years afterward; he was forced to take part in a starvation march there and had to bury the dead along the way.
His father was very abusive toward his mother and him, and he never dared to stand up to him.
He gives the impression of being submissive, which is also reflected in his stooped posture—an impression confirmed by his background. Furthermore, I consider him to be sensitive, thoughtful, and intelligent.

Follow-up visit after 6 weeks:
Since taking Hypolepis millefolium C30 1x2 every 10 days, he has had no more heart problems. His tinnitus has improved slightly. He feels freer; he finds himself more relaxed in situations where he used to put pressure on himself. At work, where he no longer has to meet a specific workload, he now has the attitude, “Whatever works, works.” He’s taking things more easily; he no longer feels like he’s not doing enough or achieving enough. He has more energy. His thyroid levels have improved: they’re now close to normal. His quality of life has since risen from 30 to 50/60.
