Coffea tosta

Year 2022, Issue 44CaseAuthor: Leo van Gelder
Classical hysteria connected to a regular drink
A Coffea case by Leo van Gelder
Overweight woman, 40 years old, hyper impression, starts by saying that she can never tell her story without crying, after which she immediately starts doing so in a weepy voice She talks a lot.
Her complaints are:
Pain between shoulderblades and acid burning pain in the stomach, with burping, especially after coffee, pepper, greasy products and carbondioxide.
The liver was painful when she walked
These complaints were liver/gall related, for which she had a gallbladder operation 10 years ago. But the complaints did not change.
Last year the diagnosis was: fatty liver with disturbed liver function, possibly caused by the use of Nizoral ( Ketoconazol) for skin fungus and also from the long term use of Ponderal ( for weight reduction).
She also had palpitations after coffee which made her anxious and chilly. These palpitations started just after having finished her study of politicology, 11 years ago. It was a time in which she drank a lot of coffee. She also had to move to a different town, which she did not like.
She was tired and was in a poor physical condition, also due to her overweight.
Her menses was abundant with clots, causing anaemia, for which she took iron tablets.
She had itching on arms and hands.
Generals:Desires: Carbohydrates 3,( pasta, banana, potatoes), cheese 3.
Apples 3
Aversions: spicy food 2
Sleep, Thirst., Perspiration normal.
Gallbladder operation in 1990
Mindpicture:She seems emotional and hysterical to me. she switches from crying to laughing, and vice versa, while telling her story.
Her husband also says that she is overreacting; he also humiliates her, makes her small and insignificant.
She is a housewife, mother of two, living in a posh neighbourhood. She has more ambitions than she can realise; wanted to study psychology or become a house broker. She could not choose.
Her greatest fear is that she will make a mistake, because she overlooked something that she should not have. She wants to be a good mother.
A repeating dream is about many animals she has to look after; she forgets to take care of two cavias but fortunately they are still alive when she finds them.
She is a twin. Her father died six weeks after their birth.
She also has a sister, one year older. These two sisters were weak and pitiful, not like she, who was big for her age, and always happy, independent and responsible.
Her mother tried to have her take responsibility for her sisters. She was powerless towards this emotional blackmail. Motherís opinion was that she was not allowed to be happy.
She does not like the fact that her sister is always fighting with her. She cannot express her boundaries, is afraid of hurting someone else,of quarrelling.
She still feels responsible for the financial position of her twin sister; is influenced by her husbandís moods. He ridicules her from time to time.
Prescription: Coffea C30 3x a week. The reaction to the remedy was dramatic. "It was a miracle remedy"
She became much
the long term use of Ponderal (
nd hysterical to me. S.vel all complaints dissapeared:N.Ceat anything without complaintsh. t 6
+++++=+++++++++++++∫ømotionally, no longer seeming hysterical. She even reacted strongly to her husband, following which he was much nicer to her. She was more self-supporting, even considered living without a husband. She does not feel like a victim anymore.
On a physical level all complaints dissapeared:normal menses, for the first time in many years.
much more energy and in better shape.
no more palpitations, also not after drinking coffee
can eat anything without complaints, also greasy foods, like chips and chocolate. No pain in liver or between shoulder blades.
She continued taking Coffea C30 once a week for half a year, and after that whenever she had a fall in her energy, for example after a happy event like her daughter finishing school.
Epilogue
Her hysterical behaviour and sensitiveness to coffee made me think of coffea.
Other confirming symptoms are:
Her need to do good, not only from a sympathetic point of view.
Like the coffea berries, two in a shell, she is a twin.(?)
She is hypersensitive with nervous hyperactivity.
She tolerates abuse from her family and spouse
She has a ìweakness of mindî, cannot decide what to do with her life besides being a good mother.
She has had a severe menses with clots for a long time.
What impressed me was the deep change in behaviour, from an hysterical woman, who was impossible to take seriously, to a still sensitive, but much more pleasant person. She stopped acting like a victim.
Until now, a year later I have not changed the potency (C30), intending to see if the liver would regenerate (blood tests are not done yet).

Some information about CoffeaThe homeopathic remedy is made of the crude form of the coffee bean: Coffea cruda.
Once the Coffee bean is roasted, much of the caffeine is changed to caffeone or methylamine, which provides the aroma of the coffee.
Coffea belongs to the family of the Rubiaceae, which means ìrough leaves. China and Ipeacuana. î belong to the same family.
The coffee plant grows around the countries of the Equator.
The most important species are Coffea Arabica and Coffea Robusta.
The tree can grow as tall as 18 meters, but on the plantations they cut them short to bushes. The leaves are evergreen. Coffeebeans are the seeds of ripened berries and are usually in pairs.
There is plenty discussion about the negative effects of Coffee. Some of them are obvious. However, the following positive effects have become clear in the last couple of years after long term studies:
5 cups of coffee supply you with the daily requirements of Iron (10%), Manganum (10%), Magnesium (12%), Niacin (15%), Potassium(26%).
it reduces the chance of getting Parkinson's disease by 50%, Gallstones by 40%, Coloncancer by 25%.
There is no evidence of a negative effect on Osteoporosis, Cardiac Infarction or Abortion.
The negative effects due to overconsumption or extreme sensitivity are either in the nervous system or in the cardiovascular system.
-Hyperesthesia of the nerves, which causes neuralgia, headaches, extreme sensitivity of the skin (itching and burning) and intolerance of pain.
For example, the toothache in children which is better when keeping icewater in the mouth.
Farrington compares the effect with Strychnine, because of the hyperactivity of the reflexes. He also compares it with Cypripedium (Orchid) because of the ecstatic state of children who cannot sleep.
-Hypersensitivity of the senses, hearing, smell, vision and touch.
-Exaltation (hysteria) especially after sudden emotions, also pleasurable ones.
-Sleeplessness and chilliness.
-Cardiovascular effects: palpitations of the heart and hot flushes.
The family of Rubiaceae consists of the following members:
Cahin Cainca racemosa=chinococca racemosaCeph. Cephalanthus occidentalis
