Erythema migrans in a 34 year old man
The patient came to my practice in November 2015 because of an erythema migrans. The redness had spread almost around the entire circumference of his right thigh and there was severe pain in the right hip joint. The tick bite had already been observed in July 2015, an antibiotic was rejected. On a scale of one to ten, where one would be the best rating, the level of his condition was seven.
Sport had always been the most important thing in his life. Since his youth at the age of 11, he was an enthusiastic athlete until he finally became world champion in martial arts technique three times in a row. Years later he was still training for large-scale competitions because he was the type of man who would always try to prove himself. Giving up was not his style, although it became increasingly difficult for him to maintain his performance over the years. He trained his body excessively from then on, although he already had problems with his hips and shins. As a professional soldier he sees himself as a link between superiors and subordinates, he is responsible for training, with all rights and duties, he said. Besides, he also trained a martial arts group. He is taken by himself, uninfluenced by the opinions of others. In his attitude and intention he is free of any doubt, extremely precise and precise and in the end actually successful.
He suffered from chronic dental problems, to which he also referred the pain in his shins, which felt like knife wounds. At 31, a malignant melanoma on his right shoulder was successfully removed. He reports occasional itching of the right ear and a twitching of the left eye. He had a cold from time to time, but rarely took medication. He had had stomach problems since childhood. "You have to eat until it hurts!" was the motto. He had an aversion to oranges and everything he didn't know. Alcohol didn't do him any good, whether it was beer or wine. He loved spicy food like sausage and cheese. In his childhood he had itching in the genital area and a urinary tract infection. He sweated profusely and his skin reacted sensitively to all care products. Since his youth he avoided any use of soaps, shampoos and cosmetics!!! He was noise-sensitive and alert, needed a good place to sleep, as he could hardly fall asleep as soon as there was a problem in the room. Dreams he did not take was.
Family history: His mother was sexually abused as a child by her biological father. Therefore, there was an inner rejection of men, including her own husband and her only son. She preferred her daughters, both of whom suffered from ulcerative colitis. As a child he was beaten by his mother, which made him angry with her. The contact with the maternal grandparents was broken off. The father was a strong man, a tough guy and he also practiced martial arts. Yes, he was very similar to the father, they had also trained a lot together, always under the motto: "God forgives, a Huber but not". (name changed). The father had now become a grouchy old man due to his harshness towards himself, but he still got along well with him. The grandfather on his father's side died of testicular cancer.
He lived in a difficult partnership. However, the problems did not develop until the first child came. He accused them of being too correct and perfect, but unable to admit mistakes. She kept him at a distance with sex deprivation and he would already have separated from her if he didn't love his two children so much. He was worried about his family and tried to be a just and responsible father. He tried to find mistakes in himself, but the dominant man strictly refused partnership therapy. Also in a previous relationship there was the problem with sex deprivation by the partner and he had to realize that he could never solve his relationships "cleanly" because he had not really been capable of conflict.
I asked him how he would describe himself concretely and his very straight answer showed me a very clear picture of him: "I am very direct, even if it is uncomfortable for others and I like that. I like attack and self-defense and could be very hard on myself. Consistently and purposefully, that's what I used to be, but unfortunately not anymore. I feel restless because I want to do so many different things and when I want something I am used to getting it. I am impatient with others, I am a lone fighter. Everything I do has to be goal-oriented and effective. I want to complete 80% of a task assigned to me in 20% of the time frame. In the 3rd and 4th grade grammar school I was class speaker, although I was never very social and had only selected friends. I can keep my distance well, but I am always alert but still in total contact. I am aware of my importance. Nobody could hold a candle to me if I only had enough time to put my present knowledge into practice as an active athlete. But you can't always stay on top. Many other things in life have become more important and the claim to success is simply no longer there..at least that's how it has to be! "
He goes his own way, no matter what the others think. On his homepage you can find the following saying: "It doesn't bother me if they hate me as long as they fear me"!
Prescription: Borrelia C200 each 1 dose weekly, altogether 3 times. In each case one day after Borrelia I let a gift of Barringtonia asiatica C200 follow, likewise 3 times.
Follo up December 2015
4 weeks had passed since the first meeting. In the short term, the erythema became more impressive and bigger before it gradually faded and disappeared. The blockage in the right hip joint was also more noticeable for two weeks, now everything felt much better. Suddenly he could talk to his wife better and he was able to express his needs, that was new. He was more self-disciplined again and could do everything he wanted. He was, so to speak, the old man again and a few days before this visit to me, he finished third at the World Championships. Before that he could fall asleep badly from time to time. Dreams appeared more often, but without special content. He was now more patient, less restless. On the scale of well-being he had now arrived at four!
Prescription: Barringtonia asiatica LM6 daily a gift. Some doses of C200 have been given, to be taken in case of acute physical aggravation.
I also called the patient to inquire about his well-being. He was satisfied with the treatment. His general condition was improved and the situation with his family was quite relaxed. The erythema migrans did not return and there were no other symptoms indicating the progression of a Borrelia infection.
