The emphasis on intellectual performance that we always consider as an important theme in Zincum could have been slightly biased by our culture. Overdoing things [Stage 12] with regard to education and work [Iron series] is in our society often focused on intellectual performance, particularly at school.
The name is probably derived from the German word ‘Zink’, meaning metal. It was discovered in the 16th century by Paracelsus.
The metal has a bluish hue to it. Exposure to air causes oxidisation, but an initial layer of oxide prevents further oxidisation. It gets used to make protective layers, as in gutters etc.
Natriumzincate, NaZnO4, is used as a water softener.
