2.7.16 Stage 16, Ytterbium: the reunion with Penelope and his father Laertes
After the fight Odysseus and Penelope meet and she recognizes Odysseus. They make love and fall into a sweet sleep.
Later Odysseus goes to find his father Laertes. Odysseus asks him whose slave he is. Laertes recognizes Odysseus only after a while and they embrace each other.
Reconciliation is a big theme in Stage 16. Here we see the reconciliation of Odysseus with Penelope and with his father Laertes. It leads to a situation of freedom: nothing has to be done anymore. The struggle is over. It’s a kind of time of relaxation, just as in the case of Heracles in his time with queen Omphale.
