Introduction
They have an old fashioned way of thinking, have rigid opinions. They think as they have been taught. They follow the rules and doctrines, sometimes very rigidly. This gives them stability. Underneath is an insecurity, a fear that they might not be right. But they lack the courage or abilities to examine their opinions and beliefs. It feels safer for them to keep adhering to what has been taught to them. They are often found in orthodox traditional religions and churches.
This rigidity is often stronger in old age, when everything has become fixed and the flexibility of the mind has diminished. They can be quite domineering, thinking they know everything better and that others have to be obedient to them and their thoughts, as they are God-given. They can have strong morals and these have to be obeyed by themselves and others.
They feel protectors of belief systems, are the most rigid.
