2.7.17 Stage 17, Lutetium: the fight with the family members
In the city a rumor has spread that the suitors have been killed. The suitors' family members assemble and want to take revenge. The herald Medon proclaims it’s the will of the Gods. With this argument half of the family members give up the fight, but the rest goes to the palace of Odysseus. Odysseus, Telemachus and the others come in full amour outside and take on the fight and kill a few of the family members. Then Athena intervenes and orders the relatives to stop the fight. The family members are frightened and run away. Odysseus persecutes them but Zeus throws a thunderbolt in front of Athena. Athena tells Odysseus to stop. Zeus wipes out the memory of the murder of the suitors in the mind of their relatives.
Stage 17 has the aspect of forgetting, letting go. This is what `Zeus does to the family members. It’s the end of the story, the ending being an aspect of Stage 17.
