The story of the Lanthanides is the archetypical story of the hero, liberating himself from outside and inside bounds and becoming free, a really autonomous person. The story of Odysseus is a similar story. Homer tells the story of Odysseus' return home on his epic The Odyssey. The first epic poem of Homer is The Iliad which describes the war against the Trojans. After this war the heroes return home. Odysseus was one of the attackers of Troy and his return is told in the "Odyssey".
I’ve used Jan van Delden’s explanations of Odysseus’ adventures in the story that follows. The connections with the Stages are mostly very striking.
