In the Apg3 classification Lamiaceae is a Family in Lamiales. Dicrastylidaceae and Symphoremataceae are included in Lamiaceae.
In the Plant theory Verbenales is split off from Lamiales.
Lamiaceae is split in its 2 subfamilies Lamioideae and Nepetoideae, respectively in placed in Subphase 4 and Subphase 5. In the first version of the Plant theory Lamiaceae was placed as a whole in Subphase 5.
The phosphoric quality of Lamiacaeae is known already a long time. That made is somewhat difficult to see the 2 subfamilies as separate.
