Culture: well-known nuisance, caused by the sticky seeds.
Herb; biennial plant.
Stem: ribbed green; upper part dies early and becomes very brittle.
Leaves: simple, rough; basal rosette; dark green; irregularly shaped.
Flowers: small; white; flowering the second year, mid-late summer.
Seeds: burs; very sticky, to clothing, pet fur.
Dispersion: by animals, seed sticking to fur.
