Taxonomy
Gentianales is one of the Orders of Lamiidae in the Apg3 classification. It includes Rubiaceae. Asclepiadaceae is included in Apocynaceae in order to keep Apocynaceae monophyletic. Apocynaceae without Asclepiadaceae would be polypheletic.
In the Plant theory Rubiaceae is split off from the Order Gentianales and put into its own Order Rubiales. The splitting does not affect the monophyly of both Orders.
Asclepiadaceae is split off from Apocynaceae. Apocynaceae is split into 2 Families Rauvolfieae and Apocyneae, which makes both monophyletic.
Gentianales is placed in Phase 2 quality of Magnesium.
