12.1
12.1 Dysprosium metallicum
Dysprosium has as a keynote 'fighting'. This fighting quality is often best expressed in dreams. They dream of fighting with their bare hands, with knives, of killing and blood. This fighting quality can make them look as if they try to dominate others, which is contrary to the general Lanthanide quality of letting others free. But it’s not really domination, more a fight for their own autonomy. On the opposite side they can also become defenders of the independence of others. Out of all the Stage 12 remedies, the fighting quality is most clearly expressed in Dysprosium. This is possibly due to the fact that they are autonomous and not controlled by others, so it expresses itself uninhibitedly.

Attacked in their independence
They have a feeling that others can attack them, so they have to be always on their guard. They desire to stand with their back against a wall, out of a fear of being attacked from behind. They keep an eye on their surroundings, especially behind them. They fear being stabbed in the back. That’s why they almost have eyes in the back of their head. They stand with their back against a wall, in case someone might approach them unexpectedly. This fear can come from childhood where they were bullied and not respected as an independent person.
Fighting to keep autonomy
They will fight to keep their freedom. They fight against attacks on what they see as their independence. They often dream about fights, which feel like a real struggle. They fight in their dreams with bare hands, knives or guns and it can even come to bloodshed and killing. They fight for being themselves and keeping their self-worth. They have an aversion to people who put others down and abuse the weakness of the other person. They are very sensitive and feel it when people try to put others down. Although they won’t really give in, they know when someone else is stronger and don’t fight a lost game. But internally they feel the stronger party. They know that a really strong person doesn't need to bully someone else to prove that he’s strong. They know that the real strength is an inner strength.
Fighting for self-control
In later stages, their striving for autonomy can go to the level of the psyche. They understand that to be really autonomous one has to be independent of rules and prejudices that have come from parents or teachers. So they have to sort out what are their own opinions and ideas and which are from others. But it feels like a fight for them to do that.
Autonomy
They feel that autonomy can always be taken away again. They have to be on guard and are suspicious of others. They have to fight to keep their autonomy.
Shadow
In Dysprosium the control is overdone. They fear the annihilation of themselves if they can’t control themselves. They have the feeling that the negative aspects can creep up from all directions.
Power
Dysprosium has to defend himself and others against attacks. His power is used as a defense against everything that's unclear and threatening.
