Use: useful tree; roots are a medicine for diarrhoea; the trunk is used for travelling, plants and furniture; the leaves are used for hats, mats, roofing, baskets, sieves and clothing; the heart is used for sugar, vinegar, wine.; the seed s are used for shells, husk, fibrous ropes, nets, carpets, brooms and brushes; the inner shell, is used for bowls and fuel to burn; the hite meat is used for margerine, soap, detergent, shampoo, face cream, perfume, candles, rubber, hydraulic brake fluid, food for livestock.
Culture: in the scriptures palm stands for beauty, peace and prosperity; in St. Johns vision it is a symbol of victory; blessing and protection on Palm Sunday.
