This is a small order with 5 families and 3 genera. It is a new Order in the Apg3 classifcation.
In the Apg2 classification Bruniaceae and Columelliaceae were placed in the Order Lamiales.
Eremosynaceae, Eremosyna, was formerly placed in Saxifragaceae.
Tribelaceae, Tribeles, was formerly placed in Hydrangeales.
Polyosmaceae, Polyosma, was formerly placed in Grossulariaceae.
